Think about selecting a school, finding out about the different types. Decide which characteristics are most important to you, such as the size of the school, distance from home, cost, and extracurricular activities.

Prepare to take standardized admissions tests. Take the PSAT now in preparation for next year.

• Try to get a 4.0 GPA as best as you can. Ask for a tutor or your counselor if you need help.Take SAT and/or ACT exams either at BYUH or at Leilehua High School in Wahiawa.
• Perform at least 40 hours of service at KHIS or in Koolaulau Communities. (repairs, beach cleanups, hospital visits,
• Tutor other students for at least 40 hours at KHIS or in neighboring schools.
• Fill a leadership position.
• Compete in academic competitions on a school, district, state, national and international levels.
• Compete in atheletic programs or be involved with the school band.
• Find at least 4 adult mentors that can help you with your career choice, colleges, extra-curricular activities.
