11th Grade - Junior Year Planning Tips
Arrow Gather information from schools. Request brochures and catalogs, attend college fairs, and begin college visits.

Arrow Take the standardized tests. Retake the PSAT for a shot at a National Merit Scholarship, and take the SAT and ACT in the spring.

  • Try to get a 4.0 GPA as best as you can. Ask for a tutor or your counselor if you need help.Take SAT and/or ACT exams either at BYUH or at Leilehua High School in Wahiawa.
  • Perform at least 40 hours of service at KHIS or in Koolaulau Communities. (repairs, beach cleanups, hospital visits,
  • Tutor other students for at least 40 hours at KHIS or in neighboring schools.
  • Fill a leadership position.
  • Compete in academic competitions on a school, district, state, national and international levels.
  • Compete in atheletic programs or be involved with the school band.
  • Find at least 4 adult mentors that can help you with your career choice, colleges, extra-curricular activities.
